The Jamie porter Band ( Rock )

I had a retweet from a man called Jamie Porter, Realising that he had a band, I thought I had better investigate,  So here goes !
Members: Jamie Porter - Vocals/Guitar - Paul Harrison - Guitar/Vocals - Bass - Darren Sidell - Dan Porter - Keys/Piano - Geraint Vernon - Drums/Vocals
Genre: Rock,Country, Blues, Singer/Songwriter
Jamie Porter is a musician from North Wales who writes and performs his own music with his band.

Jamie comes from a musical family, and was brought up on country and gospel music.  He initially learned piano until hearing a classic rock compilation LP at a friend’s house gave him the introduction to the guitar.  His influences range from rock/metal to jazz/country/blues, and he would listen to and discover as many guitarists as he could and try to work out their techniques to improve his own.  Jamie has a number of musical qualifications under his belt, and has taught guitar and music theory over the years.
Jamie’s influences and favourite bands are many from every genre, with an emphasis on rock, country and blues styles and influenced styles of music.

As a performing musician, Jamie has played in bands since high school as singer/guitarists, guitarists and bassist.  The bands have been both covers and originals bands of varying styles of country to classic rock.
While gaining plenty of gigging experience in bands, success was limited due to various limitations of the bands and finding people with the same commitment and direction.  Jamie gained plenty of experience of pub/club gigs around North Wales and NW England, and has played shows at The Cavern Club in Liverpool and Liverpool University.  Jamie has also worked on a number of small recording projects for friends, and has experience of performing live on the radio having played a number of acoustic shows on community radio stations as well as a full band session on the Evening Show on BBC Radio Wales in Cardiff.

As a writer, Jamie contributed in all the originals bands he was in, and was also writing in his home studio, but never really focussed fully on his own material while in other bands.  In 2012 after a number of years as the bass player of a band Jamie decided that he wanted to start his own music project and write his own material.  Jamie wrote and recorded 10 songs over 2012/13, which he recorded in a local studio, and put out 2 EP’s on his website in 2014 via bandcamp.

Jamie gained airplay on some local radio stations in 2014 with the song ‘Touch the Sky’ which was played on ‘The Music Truffler Radio Show’ on Radio Clwyd, Showcase Wales on GTFM Radio in Pontypridd and Rhyl’s Point FM 103.1 as well as some internet play on EGH Radio and Rocker’s Dive Radio.
Early 2015 has seen a single track release with 'Save Me'  which has gained radio play on independent radio shows across the UK.  2015 sees an increase in live playing with the band, and a new release planned mid way through the year.

After a few live performances with the band in 2015 at Conwy VW and Beer Festivals as well as a slot at the Connah's Quay Festival, Jamie is currently working on material for upcoming releases.
