About Enchanted 14
Hometown: San Francisco, CA, US
Genres: Rock / Alternative/Modern Rock / Pop
Members: Gina Robertson --Vocals, J,Christopher Thomas--All instruments
Alt-rock/pop band comprised of singer/songwriter, Gina Robertson and multi-instrumentalist / songwriter, J.Christopher Thomas. Formed in '94 in San Francisco by Gina and Christopher, the band was originally called "Discontent." From the beginning the band drew on 90s modern rock like [Smashing Pumpkins, Bjork] Grunge [Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots] and classic rock [Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd] After the addition of a bassist and drummer, the band played a handful of gigs in the San Francisco bay area. After a rededication to improving their live show and recorded work the band changed their name to "Enchanted 14" and set about recording their debut but eventually drifted apart. After a 14-year hiatus Gina & Christopher reconnected in 2010 and decided to finish that debut album and titled it "There and Back Again", a nod to the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. The album was released in February of 2011 and has helped the band grow its fanbase. The band is currently working on a follow up EP featuring "reboots" of 4 of the songs from "There and Back Again" and 2 new songs. Guesting on the songs are vocalist, Olivia Clayton, Seattle-based string quartet, Quartet Evolution, and drummer, Ben Smith of the band, Heart.
